Chuk Palu
The designer carpet Chuk Palu collection still carries the time honored traditions of Afghanistan’s ancient art of carpet weaving. Each hand woven piece is unique and uses only natural dyes made by the master weaver. Each step such as spinning the yarn, dyeing the wool, weaving and knotting the carpet and the washing are all done by hand, according to tradition.
The wool is from lanolin-rich Ghazi highland sheep – the best Afghanistan produces and some of the best in the world.

Designer of this carpet collection – Chuk Palu Rugs
Chuk Palu Rugs, based in New York City, specializes in hand-woven contemporary and traditionally designed rugs from Afghanistan. The rugs are designed by Rahim, Chuk Palu’s founder, and interpreted by tribal weavers working over 900 looms throughout Afghanistan. Weaving families with looms either in their homes or in small workshops make most of their rugs. Each Chuk Palu rug is an individual creation.
